Located in Hull and Rochester, WJ Group is first and foremost a timber treatment service provider. Low and high pressure timber treatment in addition to fire retardant treatment is available and a vacuum coating line can assist with large scale timber coating requirements. WJ Group also created the DeckWright brand, which provides an anti-slip decking service for merchants wishing to stock such a product in addition to contractors and other businesses that have a commercial requirement for anti-slip decking. DeckWright Inserts were subsequently created to serve the domestic and commercial retro-fit market with an anti-slip decking product.

DeckWright Inserts anti slip decking

What is DeckWright Anti-Slip?

Fully tested and approved for both domestic and commercial use, DeckWright Anti-Slip can transform both new and already laid grooved timber decking into a safe, anti-slip rated surface suitable for use in all weathers. Retaining the natural charm of a timber deck, DeckWright Anti-Slip is subtle in its look whilst working hard for the life of your decking.

For businesses and organisations looking to reduce potential hazards to customers and staff, or when the safety of timber decking is a concern, DeckWright Anti-Slip can significantly reduce the risk and provide an outdoor deck that is safe to use all year round.

Schools, restaurants, holiday parks, leisure facilities and workplaces are just some of the businesses that can benefit from using DeckWright Anti-Slip. It is also perfect for domestic projects and can be specified by contractors and architects.

There are two ways to purchase DeckWright Anti-Slip:

DeckWright Anti-Slip service

Your brand new decking can be enhanced with DeckWright Anti-Slip before it is fitted, using WJ Group’s facilities in either Hull or Rochester. A unique formulation of resin and aggregate is placed into the specified grooves and the decking can still be cut to length on-site with standard tools.

There is no minimum order, making it suitable for specific projects of all sizes and as ongoing stock for merchants that wish to retail or supply a professional anti-slip decking product. Colour customisation is also available, should you wish to coordinate your anti-slip decking with a particular project.

DeckWright Anti-Slip is fully tested and approved by the Health and Safety Laboratory in Buxton in accordance with BS7976: 2002, DeckWright Anti-Slip has been officially recognised for producing highly anti-slip decking in both dry and wet conditions with a typical minimum PTV of 71 when wet (a score of 36 or more is determined “anti-slip”). The non-slip decking manufacturing process is independently QA audited and is compliant with ISO 9001:2008.

DeckWright Inserts

You can retrospectively enhance already laid decking with WJ Group’s DeckWright Inserts and reduce the risk of slippery decking in wet weather. Easy to cut with standard tools, these flexible, T shaped lengths fix firmly into the grooves of deck boards with a specially formulated adhesive. Sufficiently robust for commercial projects and easy enough to install on residential timber decking areas, DeckWright Inserts can be used on steps and walkways, or entire expanses of decking. Making it safer, whatever the weather.

Merchants can retail DeckWright Inserts in a 25 metre boxed kit that includes the adhesive. Two styles of merchandising stand are available for internal and external positioning. Alternatively, bulk boxes of DeckWright Inserts can be purchased for commercial projects and for use by contractors.
