Thermally modified wood

Danzer UK is thrilled to announce a new strategic partnership with Thermory – a globally renowned manufacturer of thermally modified wood. 

Thermory is renowned for its superior thermal modification process, which enhances the durability, stability, and aesthetic appeal of wood. This partnership will allow Danzer UK to expand its product offerings, providing customers with a broader range of high-quality, sustainable wood solutions suitable for various applications, including exterior and interior design, decking and cladding.

Using only heat and steam, Thermory creates durable and climate-resistant interior and exterior cladding, decking,  materials that are unrivalled in both performance and beauty.

The exterior walls of this luxurious ‘mini-house’, which features a full-size bathtub and a sauna, are clad in Thermory’s thermo-pine and thermo-spruce. With distinctive knots and a characteristic warm golden-brown colour that will mature to a silver grey.  These durable cladding boards match perfectly with the cabin’s opulent interior features while also allowing it to blend seamlessly into the surrounding pine forest.

Coated Thermally modified spruce cladding 

Thermory’s thermally modified spruce is a softwood solution that offers exceptional rot resistance and longevity. Our thermospruce cladding range gives your facade a naturally charming appearance with beautiful visible knots. With its low moisture absorption, thermo-spruce twists, cups and bends less than untreated wood in outdoor use, with less shrinkage and expansion.

Vivid Black is thermally modified cladding finished with a fully opaque, water-based paint. Maintenance is typically needed every 7–10 years, depending on climate.

Vivid Silvered delivers a grey, preweathered look from day one. It stays beautiful for decades with no maintenance coating—just occasional cleaning. Over time, the subtle grey finish wears naturally, revealing the wood beneath and settling into an authentic, natural grey
